Good morning!
Matthew 7:13-14: Enter through the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the road is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who go through it. How narrow is the gate and difficult the road that leads to life, and few find it.
The Lord woke me up at 5:00AM with this Scripture in my head and I've been thinking about it ever since. Jesus is speaking about the Kingdom of Heaven in this chapter and the road it takes to get there. In John 14:6-7, Jesus declares HE is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Him. If we know Jesus, then we will know His Father too.
So the road that we walk that leads to the gate of Heaven is a picture of our salvation through Jesus Christ.
I very well could have been one of the many that did not find the narrow gate. I looked up narrow in the dictionary to get a better picture of the word. It means a slender width, minutely precise.
I started thinking back to when I was an unbeliever and all the reasons I used to come up with in my mind not to accept Jesus as my Savior. I heard it all but I just couldn't make the decision. It sounded like too much to give up. So I kept walking the broad path of destruction, with all of my junk and issues dragging along with me.
The gate is narrow because the path is only big enough for you to walk it. You can't bring your family along with you if you truly put Jesus first and take up your cross and follow after Him (Matthew 16:24). You won't have room for all the junk and issues because there is freedom and liberty in His salvation (Galatians 5:1).You can't try to be like anyone else because God has a special plan just for you; this is your journey (Jeremiah 29:11).
God knew it would be difficult to walk the narrow road because of all the road blocks the world throws at us. The Devil desperately wants us to miss the path that leads to that precious narrow gate and instead go along with the masses down the broad path of destruction that is so deceptively decorated with "fun" and "good times". That road is full of the mind set of it's all about me, and how can I make myself feel better and how much more stuff can I get to complete me. That road leads to death.
But once you turn down the narrow path that leads to that gate, your mind set changes to it's all about Him, and how can I bring Him glory, and what can I give to help others in need. That road leads to life.
Think about it...how easy is it to live for yourself, giving in to your fleshly desires, satisfying yourself before anyone else? How difficult is it to set your mind on unearthly ways, think of others before yourself, give first and then save, love your enemies, believe and trust in a hope that others can't see? Living for ourselves brings death and living for Jesus brings life. It may seem like the other way around when you are trying to make the decision on which road to take. I know it did to me 12 years ago. But since I chose the narrow path, I have never looked back. Nothing compares to His love! I found everything I was looking for and needed on that path and I will continue to walk it until it's my time to enter through that gate. To my eternal home.
Stay the course. Don't falter just because the road is narrow. Don't get tripped up by bringing more than you should with you on your journey or trying to be someone you are not. He is all you will ever need and He provides all you need to keep going. The narrow gate that is the entrance to Heaven is calling us all. Be one of the few who finds it!

Ephesians 2:8
Good morning!
Ephesians 2:8: For it is by free grace (God's unmerited favor) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ's salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God. (Amplied)
As we near the Christmas season, our minds are cluttered by what to buy our family and friends. This time of year beats you over the head with sales and marketing and savings and presents! Everything is new and shiny but seems to fade once the new year comes. All of those gifts are forgotten and you are usually in debt because of them!
But the gift that God gives is everlasting. It is meaningful. It is life-changing. It is fullfilling and satisfying. It is given freely just because He loves you. The faith that is inside of you takes hold of that gift and all of a sudden, you are made partakers of Christ's salvation! There is nothing you have to do on your own. It is simply a gift that you must reach out and accept. He does not beat you over the head. He does not lure you in with fancy andvertisments that don't live up to the hype. His gift of salvation will be the best gift you have ever received. You will want more of Him after the new year comes. All of your debts are forgiven and you will never forget how that moment felt when you gave your life over to Him and experienced that gift for the first time.
Sure it's fun to open present on Chrismtas morning but let's never forget the ultimate gift. Salvation wrapped up in free grace and opened with your faith!

Isaiah 43:10-11
Good morning!
Isaiah 43:10-11: "You are My witnesses and My servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe Me and understand that I am He. No god was formed before Me, and there will be none after Me. I, I am the LORD, and there is no other Savior but Me."
Whoa...no argument here! I can't think of a better Scripture for Winning Souls Wednesday! You can search your whole lifetime and there is no other Savior but Him. No Buddha, no prophet, no man or deity can save you. You are His witness and His servant that He has chosen. He wants you to stop looking elsewhere for answers and finally believe and understand that, "I AM HE!" I can just hear Him saying, "Look no further child, there was none before Me and there will be none after Me. I can save you...I am all you need!"

1 Timothy 2:3
Good morning!
Welcome to my new weekly installment of Winning Souls Wednesdays! Every Wednesday will be dedicated to winning souls for the Kingdom!
1 Timothy 2:3: This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.
God not only wants all of His children to be saved, but He wants us all informed with truth instead of continuing to believe the Devil's lies.
I remember hearing the truth from my mom and step-dad and other people over the years about God. I really did believe them but the lies I had always hung onto were louder than the truth. I really believed that I would be in a prison if I got saved, not being able to do anything or have fun. The truth is I was set free once I was saved and never wanted to do anything that I used to ever again. Those sinful desires were gone. I was a new creation and it felt really good!
Another lie I believed was that I was ordinary and that being a college drop-out and minimum wage earner was the best it would ever get for me. I saw no future for myself other than lackluster and sub-par. I think this is what held me back for so long.
In Christ, I am now a wife, mother of triplets, author, photographer, and a prayer warrior with a helper's heart. My life is far from lackluster...the Devil is such a liar! There are no limits to what God can do through me and He is not done with me yet!
Stop believing the lies today and hear the truth. God wants ALL men to be saved and to KNOW the truth.
ALL means YOU!!

Psalm 146:3-9
Good morning!
Psalm 146:3-9: Don't put your life in the hands of experts who know nothing of life, of salvation life. Mere humans don't have what it takes; when they die, their projects die with them. Instead, get help from the God of Jacob, put your hope in God and know real blessing! God made sky and soil, sea and all the fish in it. He always does what he says— he defends the wronged, he feeds the hungry. God frees prisoners— he gives sight to the blind, he lifts up the fallen. God loves good people, protects strangers, takes the side of orphans and widows, but makes short work of the wicked. (The Message)
I remember the first time I realized I had made the wrong choice. I had put all my faith, all my trust, given all of my heart to a man and just like that he was gone. No real explanation. I was alone and all that I had dreamed was gone. I knew right then for the first time in my life who wouldn't have done that to me. You think that big of a letdown would have made me fall on my knees right then and there and accept God's salvation and love and walk His path. But no...I was hard-headed and liked abuse I guess! Two years I spent with that knowledge in my head but instead kept living like I was living.
God made everything above you and everything below you and still stops and thinks of you.
He will defend you when you are wronged.
He feeds the hungry, physically and spiritually.
His Son died on a cross to free the sinner from his prison of sin.
He gives sight to those who cannot see.
He lifts up those who are bowed down.
He loves those who seek to live a good life, protects strangers who are in a foreign land, sustains the fatherless and widowed.
But He frustrates the ways of the wicked.
Those two years I spent knowing the truth but never accepting it were the most frustrating years of my life! So many things went wrong...even when something good happened, I found a way to screw it up! Please don't wait as long as I did to put your hope in God and know real blessing!
