Good afternoon!
Isaiah 44:3: For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants.
I am so ready for Spring! Everything around me is dry and barren. Colorless and dead. Trees that were once full and tall are now sparse and brittle. But now, as the rain is coming and temperatures are creeping back up, grass is beginning to turn green. New life is forming on the trees. The land is absorbing life and drinking til it's full. The birds are chirping with delight as the sun is warming them once again. Soon, the trees will be full again and will be swaying and dancing in the wind.
I feel like this has been my life for the last few months. I'm dried up inside, gray and sparse. There isn't much too me Spiritually right now. I need God to pour out His Spirit onto me! We sang this song at church last Sunday and I didn't realize how old it was. It was written in the 1700's but it still is so powerful today. My favorite verse says:
"O to grace how great a debtor daily I'm constrained to be!
Let Thy goodness like a fetter, bind my wandering heart to Thee
Prone to wander Lord I feel it, prone to leave the God I love
Here's my heart Lord, take and seal it, seal it for Thy courts above."
I hope you enjoy David Crowder's version of this song and if you are in "winter" mode like me, I pray you give your heart back to the Lord and let Him water it with His Living water. I pray His Spirit will pour over you and your children and the blessings will be so much that you won't even be able to contain it! Amen!

Matthew 5:6
Good evening!
Matthew 5:6: Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they are filled.
It's only been four days since I am no longer a stay at home mom, with time in the morning to spend in my Bible and pray and study. How quickly I feel empty! How quickly I have become hungry! This week has been so full of changes but the one change I don't want to happen is for my quest for righteousness and to be close to God to wain or cease all together. It's only been four days and I need to be filled!
I promise going back to work will not interrupt my relationship with the Lord and what He has called me to do. The Quick Word will go on...I may not be on time every morning but I will do my best to keep sharing with you what God is sharing with me. And if I do that, I will be blessed. And that is what is most important to me!
Check out The Message version...I LOVE IT!
You're blessed when you've worked up a good appetite for God. He's food and drink in the best meal you'll ever eat.
I couldn't have said it better myself!

John 7:37-38
Good morning!
John 7:37-38: On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him."
Dried out, cracked and brittle was a really good way you could have described me...pre-Jesus! I always had an attitude that made most people standoffish of me and even intimidated. The years of being dried up on the inside began to show on the outside. It felt like I could never get well inside. I knew something was wrong with me but could never put my finger on it. I had heard the truth from my mom and others throughout my life but nothing ever seemed real until I made the choice to step out in faith and go to a small church that was being held in an elementary school. The moment I stepped into His house, I felt different. His presence was all around me and those streams of living water started flowing in me, watering every dry branch, filling every empty hole, and hydrating me from the inside out.
I believed in Him and suddenly, His Spirit was creating a new me! No longer was my exterior hard and cold. No longer were my insides falling apart. There was new life inside of me, nurturing and growing gifts and passions and dreams. I was made whole once again, no longer whithering away but flourishing and beautiful!
Are you thirsty? I was. Is nothing satisfying that emptiness that you feel in your gut? Me either.
Jesus said all you have to do is come and drink...He will do the rest!
